Fair Trade
I have always believed that to make lasting change in developing communities you must create sustainable jobs though ethical business. Fair Trade as a business model seeks to create equity in international trade by working in partnership with your producer’s with fairness, open dialogue, transparency and respect as the basis of everything.
Joining the Fair Trade Association of Australia and New Zealand and going through the process to meet the criteria and become a Fair Trader was a natural progression.

Planet Loving Products
This respect encompasses not only our producers but also the environment. Without a healthy environment we can’t thrive as humans and we jeopardise all our futures. This is even more so for developing nations. The impact of plastics in the world are so obvious and once seen you can’t un-see them. I wanted to find a simple swap for plastics that everyone could use.

Sri Lanka
In the country villages I kept seeing this amazing little coconut fibre scrubber that seemed to be used for cleaning everything, from floors and dishes to workman’s tools and temples. It seemed to last forever and was better at cleaning than my nylon scourer in Australia.
In my hunt to find who made them I meet Liza and her family who had been training and employing women from local disadvantaged neighbourhoods to make brushes. I knew that I had found what I was looking for and that working together we could grow and continue to make a positive social impact on the Sri Lankan women we employ.
Women empowering women
When you empower women you benefit the whole family and their community. As an Australian business run by women I have had the privilege of working with some amazing people and impacting the lives of hundreds of women. I’ve seen the positive benefits a living wage has for them, their families and their communities.
Working together we have grown the range of ECOMAX Brushes available and continue to create new products like our ECOMAX kids range and coloured Body Brushes. We now sell to the USA, New Zealand and Finland.
